The Philips HearLink 9040 miniBTE T is a premium behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid sold exclusively at Costco Hearing Aid Centers. Manufactured by Demant, one of the world's five major hearing aid companies, and branded under the Philips name, it is designed for individuals with mild to severe hearing loss. This non-rechargeable model uses a standard size 312 disposable battery, making it easy to find replacements anywhere batteries are sold.
The HearLink 9040 BTE T features Demant's SoundMap 2 Plus sound processing system, which combines AI-based noise reduction, multi-channel amplification, and automatic feedback cancellation to deliver clear, comfortable hearing in everyday environments. The built-in telecoil (T) allows direct compatibility with loop systems found in theaters, churches, and other public venues. Binaural coordination automatically syncs volume and program changes between both hearing aids when worn as a pair. The extended dynamic range improves clarity for louder sounds, while SoundProtect technology rapidly reduces unwanted wind, handling, and transient noises.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity enables direct audio streaming from both iOS and Android smartphones. Hands-free calling is supported with compatible iPhones and iPads. The companion HearLink 2 app provides remote control for volume adjustments, program switching, battery status monitoring, and lost-aid locating. A remote fitting service is also available, allowing hearing care professionals to make real-time adjustments via video call after the initial in-person fitting at Costco.
The device is dispensed and programmed by licensed hearing healthcare professionals at Costco Hearing Centers and includes free follow-up visits, cleanings, adjustments, loss and damage coverage, and a 180-day trial period.
