Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery's Russian River Selection Chardonnay is a benchmark California white wine sourced from some of the most prestigious vineyards in Sonoma County's fog-shrouded Russian River Valley appellation. The wine draws fruit from iconic sites including Westside Farms, the legendary Allen Vineyard, Rochioli Vineyard, and Olivet Lane, all celebrated sources for top-tier Chardonnay producers. It is crafted under the direction of winemaker Theresa Heredia, who trained in Burgundy and previously led winemaking at Freestone Winery for Joseph Phelps.
In the bottle, this Chardonnay displays a medium golden straw color and opens with enticing aromas of ripe nectarine, lemon curd, white peach, honeysuckle, lemongrass, wet stone, and freshly baked brioche. On the palate it is full-bodied and rich yet remarkably mineral-driven, with flavors of ripe citrus, orchard fruit, toasted almond, and brioche. Balanced acidity lends freshness, and a subtle touch of French oak adds warmth and depth to the elegant, lingering finish. Approximately 13.7% ABV. Pairs well with shellfish, fish, white meat, and soft cheeses. Best enjoyed now through 2035.
