Commanderie de la Bargemone is a benchmark producer of dry rosé from the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation in Provence, France. Founded by Templar knights in the 13th century and located just 10 miles from the historic city of Aix-en-Provence, the estate encompasses more than 160 acres of sustainably cultivated, EU-certified organic vineyards. The property was restored and replanted in 1973 and has been owned since 2006 by Christian and Marina Garin, both from local Provençal families.
This dry rosé is a blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, and Rolle. The grapes are direct-pressed with no maceration and cold-settled in stainless-steel tanks before a 10-day fermentation at 59°F with no malolactic conversion. The wine pours a delicate light pink color and offers a juicy nose of fresh flowers and fruit salad. On the palate, expect vibrant flavors of strawberry, cherry, and pear with crisp acidity and a clean, dry finish.
Critically acclaimed with 91 points from Wine Enthusiast and 90 points from Wine Advocate, this 750ml bottle at 13% ABV is an outstanding Provençal rosé suitable year-round as an aperitif or paired with salads, grilled seafood, and Mediterranean cuisine.
