Happi Pear® is a distinctive green pear variety grown by Stemilt in the Wenatchee and Entiat River valleys of Washington State, where nutrient-rich soils and abundant sunshine produce fruit with a uniquely sweet flavor and bright, zesty bite. This 3-pound bag delivers a fresh supply of this one-of-a-kind pear directly from modern, high-density orchards that use trellis growing systems for consistent sun exposure and rich, buttery flavor development.
Happi Pear® is a cross between Harrow Sweet and NY10353 pear varieties, developed through natural cross-pollination at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre in Ontario, Canada. The result is a non-GMO pear with an aesthetically pleasing golden-yellow skin and red blush. What sets it apart is its versatility — eat it green for a crisp, juicy texture or let it ripen to yellow for a softer, very juicy experience. It's ideal enjoyed fresh, sliced on a charcuterie board, or as an anytime snack.
Pears are naturally low in calories (about 100 calories each), high in water content and dietary fiber, and rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K, copper, and potassium. The soluble and insoluble fiber supports digestive health and feeds beneficial gut bacteria, while the low glycemic index means natural sweetness without blood sugar spikes. Store ripe pears in the refrigerator to extend freshness, or keep at room temperature to ripen from green to yellow. Happi Pear® is available seasonally from September through November.
