Viberti Buon Padre Barolo DOCG is a classic Piedmontese red wine produced by the Viberti family estate in the Langhe region of northwestern Italy. Made entirely from 100% Nebbiolo — the noble grape of Barolo — this wine draws from multiple historic crus including Bricco delle Viole, San Pietro, La Volta, San Ponzio, Perno, Bergera, Albarella, Ravera, and Fossati, spanning the municipalities of Barolo, Monforte d'Alba, and Verduno. Each 750ML bottle contains approximately 14–14.5% alcohol by volume.

The Buon Padre cuvée has a storied heritage dating to 1923, when Cav. Giovanni Viberti created it for guests of the family's "Il Buon Padre" inn, founded in 1896. Today, nearly a century later, the wine remains true to its original spirit — a classic, unfiltered Barolo crafted through the skillful blending of individually vinified crus, each aged separately before final assemblage. As winemaker Claudio Viberti describes it, "Buon Padre is not just a wine, it is the bond with our family and our land."

Vinification begins with destemming and alcoholic fermentation with skin maceration lasting 10 to 16 days, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages for 36 months in large, truncated conical vats of unroasted French oak ranging from 25 to 50 hectoliters in capacity, preserving the purity of fruit and terroir expression of each cru. Bottling takes place without filtration, followed by an additional 6 to 12 months of bottle rest before release.

In the glass, Buon Padre displays a bright garnet red with aromas of rosehip, dark cherry, and licorice — classic hallmarks of Nebbiolo from the Barolo zone. The palate delivers vibrant acidity, structured dusty tannins, and layered complexity with notes of preserved fruit, spice, earth, leather, and wild flowers, with the capacity to evolve and improve for 15 or more years from the vintage date. Best served at 18°C (64°F) alongside braised meats, truffle dishes, aged cheeses, or traditional Piedmontese cuisine.
