Alpha Estate "Hedgehog" Xinomavro is a single-vineyard red wine from the Amyndaio region of northern Greece, produced by one of the country's most celebrated estates. Made from the Xinomavro grape — Greece's premier red variety, often compared to Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir for its high acidity and firm tannin structure — this wine delivers a complex and elegant expression of its terroir.

The wine presents a bright purple-red color with a complex bouquet of small red berries, leather, and spices including vanilla, pepper, and clove, along with hints of ripe blackberry. On the palate it offers a full mouthfeel with rounded tannins, balanced acidity, and well-integrated oak tones. The finish is long with an intense quince aroma. The Hedgehog vineyard bottling is aged for 12 months in a mixture of used and second-use French barriques, resulting in a refined, approachable style that is ready to drink upon release while retaining the ability to cellar for several years.
