Carpineto Brunello di Montalcino is a prestigious Italian red wine produced from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown in the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG appellation in Tuscany. This case contains 6 bottles of 750 mL each. Carpineto's Montalcino estate sits at an altitude of 450 meters (1,350 feet) above sea level, one of the highest positions in the appellation, providing exceptional growing conditions.
The vineyards benefit from sedimentary soils with a galestro (schist) frame and clay accumulations dating to the Eocene era, approximately 15 million years ago. The slightly northern exposure and surrounding thick woodland protect the vines from the warm, humid westerly winds from the Maremma coast, contributing to the wine's signature flavors of wild berries and Mediterranean herbs alongside vibrant acidity and elegant structure.
The wine is crafted through medium-length skin maceration with temperature-controlled fermentation, then aged for three full years in Slovenian oak barrels followed by a minimum of six months of bottle aging in temperature-controlled cellars. Tasting notes reveal an earthy, umami nose of warm tar, topsoil, and mixed herbs alongside fresh graphite and tart cherries. Cherries and mineral earth dominate the palate, evolving into a structured finish supported by firm, integrated tannins. The wine offers intense bouquets, vibrant acidity, fine elegance, and outstanding aging potential. Consistently rated 93โ94 points by Wine Enthusiast.
