Mt. Beautiful Pinot Noir is a premium red wine from North Canterbury on the South Island of New Zealand, produced at the Spotswood estate located 9 kilometres north of Cheviot. The wine opens with sophisticated floral fragrances of sweet spice and ripe soft red berry fruits, leading to an elegant medium-weight palate featuring fragrant strawberry and bramble fruit, earthiness, and subtle tannins.

The vineyard's Pinot Noir vines are planted on the Southern section at the highest elevation, providing extra warmth and reduced frost exposure. Vines are closely planted to reduce vigor and lower crop yields, allowing optimal ripening. The blend draws on Burgundy clones BDX 667 (which fills out the middle palate) and BDX 777 (which provides a long finish), plus seven additional clones including UCD 5, UCD 6, 114, and 115. All vines are hand tended throughout the growing season and at harvest. The wine displays a vibrant ruby color with ripe fruit, subtle tannins, and great length and persistence of flavor.

Pairs well with rare roast beef and horseradish sauce, hard salty cheeses like Pecorino Romano, or moussaka.
