Zolo Unoaked Chardonnay is a 100% Chardonnay wine sourced from estate vineyards in Agrelo and Tupungato, Mendoza, Argentina, with vines grown at approximately 1,000 meters above sea level. The high-altitude location provides warm, sunny days and cold nights that allow the grapes to develop excellent maturity and natural balance. The wine is produced by Bodega Tapiz and imported to the US by Vino Del Sol, a winery founded in 2003 with a focus on terroir-driven, elegantly crafted wines.
True to its unoaked character, the wine is aged entirely in stainless steel tanks, allowing the pure fruit expression to take center stage without interference from oak influence. It pours a very pale, nearly clear straw color. On the nose it offers clean aromas of apple, pear, peach, and subtle tropical notes. On the palate, flavors of apple, lemon, peach, pineapple, and apricot emerge, supported by crisp, refreshing acidity. The finish is dry and lingering. Alcohol is 13.5% by volume with 5.0 g/L residual sugar. The wine is sustainably farmed and has been rated 89 points by CostcoWineBlog and named a Best Buy by Wine Enthusiast.
This is a versatile, crowd-pleasing white wine that pairs well with seafood, light pasta dishes, poultry, and salads, and is equally enjoyable on its own as a refreshing everyday sipper.
