Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs is a celebrated Zinfandel-based red blend from the historic Dry Creek Valley estate, marking over 50 years of acclaimed winemaking. This field blend showcases century-old vines interplanted with Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane, and Alicante Bouschet, co-fermented to create a wine of exceptional depth and complexity.

The wine displays a deep red ruby color with aromas of abundant black cherry, plum, lilac, cedar, tobacco, cocoa, and freshly cracked black pepper. On the palate, it offers densely packed flavors of blackberry, briar patch, savory anise, and pepper, with a fleshy midpalate and velvety tannins that provide structure for extended aging. The finish is long-lasting with notes of toasted cinnamon, bramble fruits, spicy black plums, muddled mint leaves, and dried anise.

Ridge Vineyards, founded in 1962 and based in the Santa Cruz Mountains, is renowned as a stalwart producer of distinctive, site-driven Zinfandel blends. The Lytton Springs vineyard, located on the benchlands between Dry Creek and Alexander Valley, benefits from foggy mornings that burn off into warm sunny afternoons. Ridge is the largest grower of organically certified grapes in Sonoma County and employs pre-industrial winemaking techniques, eschewing commercial enzymes and nutrients while allowing natural malolactic fermentation in American oak barrels.

The wine has an alcohol content of 14.4% and is best served at 58°F after decanting for 30 minutes. It has received exceptional critical acclaim, including 96 points from Wine Enthusiast, 95 points from Wine Spectator, 95 points from Decanter, and 95 points from James Suckling. This age-worthy wine can be enjoyed now through 2035 and pairs beautifully with red meat and hard cheeses.
