Landmark Vineyards Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast is a classic California Pinot Noir crafted by head winemaker Greg Stach at Landmark Vineyards, a winery founded in 1974 in Sonoma Valley. Damaris Deere Ford, great-great-granddaughter of John Deere, became sole proprietor by 1989 and relocated the estate to its current Sonoma home, where the winery has built a focused portfolio centered on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The Sonoma Coast appellation delivers cool-climate growing conditions ideal for expressive Pinot Noir. Landmark's winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, hand-harvesting, and traditional old-world methods to let each vineyard's terroir shine through the wine. The Pinot Noir presents aromas of red plums, raspberries, wild cherries, cola, orange zest, cloves, and forest floor notes with subtle mushroom and thyme. On the palate it is dry with medium-plus acidity, moderate chewy tannins, and flavors of red plums and raspberries that linger through a medium-plus finish.
This wine pairs well with pork, duck, salmon, mushroom dishes, and other game birds. It is ready to enjoy upon release and can be cellared for up to five years for further development.
