19 Crimes Red Blend is a bold Australian red wine from South Eastern Australia, crafted as a tribute to the British convicts transported to Australia for committing one of 19 crimes during the colonial era. Beginning in 1788, rather than face execution, convicted British rogues were sentenced to live as pioneers in Australia, forging a new country and culture. This wine celebrates the rules they broke and the lives they built.
The wine is a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grenache, aged in 100% American oak. It delivers jammy, ripe dark berry fruit on the nose with notes of chocolate, vanilla, and cedar spice. On the palate, the soft and round mouthfeel carries flavors of blackberry and plum complemented by sweet vanilla and oak, finishing with lingering dark fruit and vanilla notes. With 12.0 g/L of residual sugar, it has a slightly sweet, full-flavored profile. Alcohol by volume is 13.5%.
Each bottle features a historically inspired label depicting an actual convicted criminal transported to Australia. The 19 Crimes app brings the label to life through augmented reality, telling the criminal's story when scanned. Imported by Treasury Wine Estates. Sold as a case of 12 x 750 mL bottles.
