L'Essence de Courvoisier is the crown jewel of Maison Courvoisier, one of the world's most celebrated cognac houses with roots dating to 1809 in Paris. This ultra-premium expression is an exquisite blend of over 100 extremely rare cognac reserves sourced from the Grande Champagne and Borderies crus, with some reserves dating back to the early 1900s — each celebrated as the most innovative of their era. It was the final masterwork of the house's fifth master blender, Jean-Marc Olivier, before he passed his role to Patrice Pinet.

Presented in a hand-sculpted Baccarat crystal decanter with a signature teardrop silhouette, the crystal stopper was inspired by the signet rings Napoleon Bonaparte bestowed upon his commanders. The cognac is bottled at 40% ABV and aged in French oak with no age statement.

On the nose it is powerful yet delicate, with notes of sandalwood and flower blossoms. The palate opens with sandalwood, cigar leaf, and floral notes, evolving into toffee, marzipan, and sweet fresh honey. The finish is full-bodied and lingering with notes of licorice, dried plums, and apricots.
