Domaines Schlumberger Riesling Grand Cru Saering is an estate-grown Alsatian Riesling from the historic Saering vineyard in Guebwiller, first documented in 1250. The Saering plot sits on a peninsula-like formation of marl, limestone, and sandstone at 260–300 meters elevation, facing east and south-east. Domaines Schlumberger is the largest Grand Cru producer in Alsace, with over 330 acres of vineyards, 75% on steep terraced slopes requiring horses for fieldwork.

The grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed, with fermentation in temperature-controlled tuns followed by eight months of lees aging. The wine is 100% Riesling with 12.93% alcohol, 5.73 g/L acidity, and just 0.5 g/L residual sugar, making it bone-dry. It presents a lemon yellow color with green reflections and aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers, and flinty mineral notes. The palate is concentrated with bright lemony freshness, saline minerality, and a long finish with hints of petrol.

Wine Enthusiast rated the 2021 vintage 93 points, praising its balance of racy citrus zest, saline mineral notes, and soft stone fruit. Vinous awarded 92 points, noting its undeniable stoniness and lemon sherbet brightness. Pairs well with tempura calamari, Asian-flavored salmon, lobster tail with citrus, or goat's milk cheese.
