Cox's Seafood offers 100% American wild-caught Gulf White Shrimp harvested from the crystal-clear waters of Florida's Gulf Coast. These premium shrimp feature a sweet and mild flavor profile and are among the highest quality sustainable and domestically wild-caught shrimp available. The 16/20 count designation means approximately 16 to 20 shrimp per pound, making these large, jumbo-sized shrimp ideal for grilling, sautéing, or frying. Each 2-pound package contains raw, headless, shell-on shrimp that have been deveined for convenience.
The shrimp are individually quick frozen to preserve freshness and quality. They can be thawed quickly by placing frozen shrimp in a colander and running under cold water for approximately 5 minutes, or slow-thawed by storing in cold water just prior to cooking. For stovetop preparation, bring shrimp to a boil in salted water, add 2 tablespoons salt per quart, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until shrimp are no longer translucent. For broiling, rinse thoroughly in cold water, place peeled and deveined shrimp on a baking pan, brush with melted butter or Italian salad dressing, and broil for 4 to 6 inches from source of heat to desired doneness, removing before shrimp curl tightly.
