Kiona Vineyards Estate Merlot is sourced from the oldest vineyard on Red Mountain, Washington, with Merlot blocks dating back to 1976. Red Mountain is renowned for producing Merlot of exceptional depth and density, and Kiona's estate bottling reflects that heritage with a powerful yet elegant style.

The wine draws from four distinct estate blocks, each contributing to a layered, complex profile. The winemaking approach uses a majority of neutral oak barrels to preserve geographical specificity and varietal purity, with small additions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc for additional structure and complexity.

Kiona's Red Mountain Merlot has earned widespread critical acclaim, including 95 points from VinePair, 93 points from Wine Advocate, and 92 points each from Vinous, Jeb Dunnuck, International Wine Report, and Decanter, with 91 points from Wine Enthusiast.
