Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny is an elegant red Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits, one of Burgundy's most celebrated wine regions in France. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, this wine reflects the exceptional terroir of the Chambolle-Musigny village, whose limestone-rich Jurassic soils are ideally suited to producing wines of remarkable finesse and complexity.
Maison Joseph Drouhin owns several Premier Cru parcels within Chambolle-Musigny, including Noirots, Hauts Doix, Borniques, Plantes, and Combottes. Grapes are harvested by hand in open-work crates with careful sorting, followed by two to three weeks of fermentation and maceration in small open vats using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, with 25% new oak, for 14 to 18 months.
On the nose, the wine offers complex aromas of violet, black cherry, and damp earth, with notes of truffle and game emerging depending on the vintage. The palate is defined by refined, silky tannins with a beautiful balance of texture and acidity, finishing long with flavors of cherry and candied fruit. Optimal drinking window is 10 to 25 years, with an aging potential of up to 35 years. Serve at 16°C (61°F).
