François Carillon Bourgogne Blanc is a 100% Chardonnay white Burgundy from Puligny-Montrachet, France, bottled in a 750mL format. Sourced from three vineyard plots in Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, the vines range from 33 to 59 years old and are planted in clay-limestone soils.
The wine offers a golden, luminous color with rich aromas of yellow peach and a salty mineral backdrop. On the palate it is clean and crisp yet round and juicy, with flavors of apple, pear, citrus, and peach balanced by refreshing acidity and a lingering finish. Wine Spectator awarded it 90 points, describing it as "creamy and laced with peach, apple, citrus and pastry flavors" with "fine harmony and complexity for the appellation."
The Carillon family has been making wine in Puligny-Montrachet since the 16th century, with a provenance traceable to an engraved stone dated 1632. François Carillon, now working independently with a small team across 6.5 hectares, has farmed these vines since 1988 with a commitment to quality and near-organic viticulture. Pairs well with shellfish, chicken, white fish, and soft cheeses such as Brie, Fromage d'Affinois, and Délice de Bourgogne.
