Long Shadows Pedestal is a flagship red wine from Long Shadows Vintners, one of Washington State's most celebrated producers, crafted by legendary Bordeaux consultant Michel Rolland of Pomerol, France. Sourced from premier Columbia Valley vineyards including Weinbau and StoneTree, Pedestal is a Merlot-driven blend typically composed of approximately 80% Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, delivering a wine that consistently ranks among the finest Merlots produced anywhere in the country.

The wine is aged for 22 months in predominantly new French oak barrels, imparting a layered complexity of toasted cedar, espresso, and dark chocolate alongside the wine's naturally rich fruit character. In the glass it shows a deep garnet-violet hue, followed by an expressive bouquet of black cherry, cassis, crushed blueberry, dark chocolate, sandalwood, and subtle herb notes. On the palate it is full-bodied and luxuriously textured with velvety, fine-grained tannins, superb concentration, and a long, complex finish.
