Fontanafredda Barolo Lazzarito Vigna La Delizia is a prestigious single-vineyard Barolo DOCG from the Lazzarito M.G.A. in Piedmont, Italy. Crafted from 100% hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes, this wine earned a 95-point score from Wine Spectator and is celebrated for its vivid, alluring aromatics of rose, strawberry, cherry, licorice, and underbrush. Dense, flexing tannins carry through to a long, impressive finish.

After careful selection and sorting, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation followed by extended maceration to extract maximum flavor and structure. The wine then ages for approximately three years in a combination of large Slavonian oak casks and smaller French barriques in Fontanafredda's 19th century estate cellars, followed by an additional 12 months of bottle aging before release. Best enjoyed from 2027 through 2048.

Fontanafredda was founded on land acquired by King Vittorio Emanuele II of Italy in 1858 in the Langhe hills of Piedmont. The estate was named "European Winery of the Year" in 2007 by Wine Enthusiast and has long been praised by Robert Parker as "one of the great names of Piedmontese winemaking." In 2018, Fontanafredda became the largest certified organic winery in all of Piedmont. Pairs beautifully with brasato al Barolo, truffle risotto, aged cheeses, and braised red meats.
