The wine is predominantly Cabernet Franc blended with a small portion of complementary red varietals, aged approximately 12 months in a combination of small French and American oak barrels. Grapes are sourced from estate vineyards at elevated elevations where warm days are cooled by mountain air, resulting in fruit with natural acidity and layered complexity. The soils of decomposed granite mixed with volcanic sediment and red clay lend a distinct mineral character to the wine.

On the nose, the wine offers aromas of fleshy black cherry, blackberry, dried herbs, potpourri, and spicy oak. On the palate, succulent dark fruit flavors of plum, black cherry, red currant jam, and a hint of sweet oak are complemented by notes of pepper, dried fennel, and espresso, finishing with silky, medium-length tannins. The wine has received high praise from critics, including 92 points from Wine Enthusiast and 91 points from James Suckling. Alcohol content is approximately 14.5%.
