New Holland Artisan Spirits Beer Barrel Bourbon is a unique Michigan-made whiskey crafted through a pioneering double-barreling process. Distilled using a signature high-barley mash bill in a copper pot still, the spirit is first aged for several years in new, charred American oak barrels to develop its core character of toffee, caramel, and vanilla. It is then finished for approximately three months in barrels previously used to mature Dragon's Milk Ale, New Holland Brewery's legendary high-gravity stout aged 90 days in oak — a reverse of the craft beer trend of aging beer in whiskey barrels.

The Dragon's Milk barrel finish imparts distinctive notes of roasted malt, fresh bread, and butterscotch alongside stone fruit and sweet malt from the mash bill, culminating in a smooth caramel finish. The bourbon is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It pairs well with smoked pork, salty snacks, and dried fruit.

Beer Barrel Bourbon has earned a Master of Bourbon medal from Spirits Business Masters (American Whiskey category) and a Double Gold medal from the American Distilling Institute.
