Martell L'Or de Jean is the pinnacle of the Martell Cognac portfolio — a masterful blend of over 700 exceptional eaux-de-vie drawn from both the Grande Champagne and Borderies terroirs, the two most prestigious growing regions of the Cognac appellation. Some of the individual eaux-de-vie incorporated in this rare blend have been aged for over 100 years, making this an extraordinary expression of patience and craftsmanship from one of France's oldest cognac houses, Maison Martell, founded in 1715.

In the glass, L'Or de Jean reveals an intense amber hue with shimmering mahogany highlights. The nose opens with fresh oriental notes of bergamot, orange peel, and dark berries, layered with gingerbread, clove, and cinnamon, and rounded by hints of sweet vanilla, blackcurrant, honey, and roasted cocoa beans. On the palate, the cognac is silky-smooth and subtle at first, gradually unfolding into richer, more complex flavors of blackcurrant, woody spice, gingerbread, and orange peel, ending with an exquisitely long, lingering finish.

Presented in a hand-crafted crystal decanter whose teardrop shape is individually decorated with gilded garlands in the French classical style, the bottle is a collector's piece in its own right. Each decanter is handblown using time-honoured techniques combining technical mastery with an artisan's feeling for the material.
