Ballantine's 17 Year Old is a prestigious blended Scotch whisky produced by Chivas Brothers (a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard) in Scotland. First blended in the 1930s, it is widely recognized as the world's first and most awarded 17-year-old blended Scotch. Distilled with fingerprint malts from Miltonduff and Glenburgie distilleries and blended with up to 50 single malts and four single grains, it represents the pinnacle of Ballantine's craftsmanship — a heritage dating back to George Ballantine's Edinburgh grocery in 1827. Each case contains 6 bottles of 750ml, bottled at 43% ABV.

The whisky presents a deep, balanced, and elegant nose with hints of sweet vanilla, oak, and a gentle suggestion of smoke. On the palate it is full and complex, with vibrant honey sweetness and creamy vanilla flavours layered over notes of oak and spicy liquorice. The body is full, creamy, and luscious, and the finish is long, sweet, and smooth with a touch of spice. The color is a clear, golden amber. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with a small splash of still water to further open up the aromatics.

Ballantine's 17 Year Old has received Gold at the International Spirits Challenge in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and Silver (94 pts) at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2024, making it one of the most consistently decorated expressions in the blended Scotch category.
