Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses is a premium Languedoc rosé wine from the south of France, celebrating the Mediterranean lifestyle. This elegant rosé is a carefully crafted blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault varietals sourced from vineyards alongside the Mediterranean coast, where soils vary from hard limestone and schist to river-transported gravel.
The wine is presented in a distinctive bottle with a rose-shaped base, designed by a young artist from the École Boulle, making it as beautiful to display as it is to drink. The grapes are harvested separately at optimal ripeness, then de-stemmed, cooled to 8°C, and gently pressed to extract only the highest quality juice. After a controlled fermentation lasting 15-30 days and light fining, the wine is bottled early to preserve its fresh, fruity character.
In the glass, this rosé displays a soft, pale, brilliant pink color with bluish tints that develop toward more orangey nuances over time. The bouquet releases vibrant aromas of summer fruits, cassis, and redcurrant, complemented by delicate floral notes of rose and hints of grapefruit. On the palate, the wine is fresh and full-bodied with citrusy fruit flavors featuring pear, strawberry, and orange. It offers great aromatic persistence, nice acidity, and a crisp, refreshing finish with subtle notes of candy. Ideal served chilled at 10°C as an aperitif or paired with shellfish and subtly spiced dishes.
