Castle Rock Winery's Mendocino County Pinot Noir is a medium-bodied California red wine crafted from grapes grown in Mendocino County, where viticulture dates back to the early 1860s. The region's distinctive climate — cool springs, warm summers, crisp autumns, and wet winters — provides ideal conditions for cultivating expressive Pinot Noir.
The wine opens with delicate aromatics of blackberry, caramel, and cedar, complemented by notes of violet and rose petals. The palate is highlighted by ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors with a full, polished midpalate leading into a long, refined finish with silky tannins. Alcohol content is approximately 14.5% ABV.
This versatile wine pairs well with roasted meats, grilled salmon, mushroom-based dishes, wood-fired pizza, charcuterie boards, light pasta dishes, and aged cheeses. It has received strong critical recognition, including a 92-point score from Wine Enthusiast. Sold in cases of 12 x 750ml bottles.
