Banfi Chianti Classico DOCG is a red wine produced in the historic Chianti Classico zone between Florence and Siena in Tuscany, Italy — the original and most prestigious subzone of the broader Chianti appellation. To bear the Chianti Classico designation, producers must strictly adhere to DOCG rules governing grape blend, alcohol content, yield per acre, and aging requirements.

The wine is made predominantly from Sangiovese with small additions of Canaiolo Nero and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation includes traditional skin contact of 8–10 days, followed by short aging in large French oak casks. The result is a dry, medium-bodied red with an intense bouquet of cherries, plums, and violets, rich flavors of cherry and leather, supple tannins, and good acidity. Alcohol is 12.5% by volume, with total acidity of 6.5 g/l and residual sugar of 0.8 g/l.

This wine pairs well with red-sauced pastas, grilled meats, and roasts. It is available in 750 ml and 5-liter formats.
