Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is a distinguished red wine from the Chianti Classico zone of Tuscany, Italy, produced in the historic region between Florence and Siena. This 750ml bottle showcases the excellence of Castello Banfi, one of Tuscany's most celebrated estates.
The wine is predominantly Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo Nero and Cabernet, grown on calcareous, well-structured soils. Fermentation occurs with a medium maceration period, followed by a minimum of 2 years of aging — at least 12 months in French oak barrels — and concludes with no less than 6 months of bottle aging before release.
On the nose, the bouquet is rich with notes of cherries, plums, and iris, with hints of bitter chocolate, Mediterranean herbs, and oak-derived spice. The palate delivers deep cherry and leather flavors with subtle wood notes, supple tannins, good acidity, and a long, warming finish. Recent vintages have earned scores of 90–95 points from James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast.
The wine pairs beautifully with flavorful roasts, pasta dishes, and aged cheeses. It is well-suited for both immediate enjoyment and medium-term cellaring. Alcohol: 13% Vol. Total acidity: 5.5 g/l. Residual sugar: 1.6 g/l.
