Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir is a bold, expressive single-vineyard red wine from the Santa Maria Valley of California's Central Coast. Named in honor of winemaker Joe Wagner's grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner — a co-founder of Caymus Vineyards — Belle Glos is dedicated to producing exceptional Pinot Noir from distinguished California vineyards.
The Clark & Telephone Vineyard takes its name from its location near the corner of Clark Avenue and Telephone Road in the Santa Maria Valley. Established in 1972 and planted "own root" to the rare Martini clone of Pinot Noir, the vineyard benefits from cooling winds and morning fog that drift inland from the Pacific Ocean along the Santa Maria River channel, creating ideal conditions for slow, even ripening.
Deep ruby red in color, this wine opens with bountiful aromas of ripe cherry, cranberry, roasted boysenberry, and blueberry pie, laced with clove, cedar, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and lightly toasted oak. On the palate it is bold and unctuous with rich dark fruit, cocoa, baking spices, and caramel, finishing with warmth and structure. ABV: 14.9%.
