Crafted with malted barley, yeast, water, and the prized Green Bullet hop variety grown in New Zealand's Nelson region at 41 degrees south latitude, Steinlager delivers a robust hop nose of fresh-cut green grass and a full-bodied flavor. The finish is dry, tangy, and crisply bitter — characteristics that have made it an internationally recognized lager at 5.0% ABV. The signature green bottle has been a global icon since 1973.

Steinlager Classic is a multiple award-winner, having claimed the prestigious Les Amis du Vin international beer competition title in 1977 and 1978 — winning so many consecutive times that organizers eventually asked the brand to step aside to allow other beers to compete. It also earned a Gold Medal and Best in Class at the 2006 Australian International Beer Awards. Steinlager has been the official beer sponsor of the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team since 1986.
