Le Dôme is a prestigious Bordeaux red wine from the Saint-Émilion appellation in France, produced by Jonathan Maltus. First created in 1996, the estate encompasses approximately 7 hectares of vines dating to the 1950s, planted with 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% old-vine Merlot on soils of sand over layers of iron—a distinctive terroir within Saint-Émilion.
The wine is known for its exceptionally low yields, achieved through three annual green harvests and limiting each vine to just four grape bunches. Vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks on a parcel-by-parcel basis, with malolactic fermentation and aging in approximately 80% new French oak barrels. Thomas Duclos serves as consulting winemaker.
Le Dôme offers a rich aromatic profile featuring flowers, espresso, black plums, dark cherries, and chocolate, underpinned by mineral and herbal complexity. The wine has a supple, creamy texture with excellent structure and balance. It is built for extended cellaring, typically reaching peak maturity between 10 and 25 years after the vintage. Recent vintages have earned scores of 94–97 points from leading critics, and the 2010 vintage received a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker. Sold in cases of 6 x 750ml bottles.
