Bottled at 83.4 proof (41.7% alcohol by volume), this whiskey is aged in whiskey-soaked American white oak barrels rather than new oak barrels — a deliberate choice that sets it apart from bourbon and rye by legal definition, and is the basis for its "unblended" designation. Crucially, it never contains grain neutral spirits.
