Trivento Golden Reserve Malbec is the flagship wine from Trivento, sourced from Luján de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina — widely regarded as the birthplace of Argentine Malbec and home to some of the country's finest high-altitude vineyards. The wine pours a deep ruby-red with violet tints, expressing intense aromas of fresh raspberries, blackberries, and plum, layered with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and a touch of violets.
Aged for 12 months in 95% French oak barrels (20% new) and 5% French oak foudres, the Golden Reserve develops a silky, full-bodied palate with vibrant, polished tannins and a long, juicy finish. The careful balance between fresh fruit character and refined oak integration gives this wine surprising depth and elegance for its price point.
Trivento was founded in 1996 and takes its name from the three winds that shape the Mendoza terroir: the Polar (a cold southern wind), the Zonda (a warm western wind sweeping down from the Andes), and the Sudestada (a southeastern breeze carrying Atlantic freshness). With over 1,500 hectares of vineyards, Trivento has become one of Argentina's most celebrated wine producers.
The Golden Reserve has earned outstanding critical acclaim, scoring 93 points from James Suckling, 92 from Vinous, 91 from the Tasting Panel, and 90 from Wine Spectator. It pairs beautifully with grilled beef, lamb, pasta with rich meat sauces, aged cheeses, and hearty stews.
