Meiomi Chardonnay is a premium California white wine crafted from grapes grown in three sought-after coastal regions: Sonoma County, Monterey County, and Santa Barbara County. This 750ml bottle showcases the artistry of blending fruit from these cool-climate coastal appellations to create a richly layered wine of bold character and exceptional balance.
The wine opens with luxurious aromas of honeysuckle, acacia, apple, and pear, complemented by bright notes of lemon peel and lime. Opulent layers of tropical stone fruits dominate the palate, featuring flavors of pineapple, mango, peach, and apricot interwoven with almonds and baking spices like cinnamon. The wine exhibits a creamy, lush mouthfeel with a smooth texture that is easy on the palate.
With 13.6% alcohol content, this medium-bodied Chardonnay is fruit-forward yet showcases enough complexity to offer structure and depth. The succulent acidity refreshes the palate while the finish remains clean and mineral-driven. Unlike heavily oaked California Chardonnays, Meiomi maintains a bright, acidic character without overwhelming oakiness, though subtle notes of vanilla and toasted oak add complexity. The wine displays an attractive medium straw color with translucent lemon reflections.
Meiomi Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, seafood like steamed lobster, cold turkey sandwiches, and other poultry dishes. The name "Meiomi" comes from the word for "coast" in the language of the native Wappo American Indian tribe, symbolizing the coastal California character that defines this wine. Crafted by winemaker Jason Becker and Meiomi Wines (part of Constellation Brands since 2015), this Chardonnay represents the #2 luxury Chardonnay in its market segment. Serve chilled at 50°F (10°C) for optimal enjoyment.
