Stags' Leap Winery The Investor is a bold and elegant Napa Valley red wine blend that beautifully marries the character of four distinguished varietals: Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. Sourced from the historic Stags' Leap estate vineyards in Oakville and Oak Knoll, as well as select grower vineyards throughout northern and southern Napa Valley, this wine is a true expression of the region's terroir and winemaking tradition.

On the nose, the wine opens with ripe red berries, floral violets, and boysenberry, followed by notes of dark plum, black raspberry, and crushed bramble. The palate is richly layered with blackberry, black cherry, plum, and blueberry, accented by warm baking spice notes of vanilla, caramel, and mocha, along with subtle hints of chaparral sage and wild lavender. The Merlot drives a plush, velvety richness while the Petite Sirah adds concentration, bold tannins, and spice. Cabernet Sauvignon deepens the complexity, and Malbec lifts the whole blend with vibrant floral freshness. Fine-grained tannins and a long, spiced finish make this a remarkably structured yet approachable wine.

Each varietal is aged separately for 18 months — Petite Sirah in American oak (24% new) and the Bordeaux varieties in French oak (35% new) — before being blended just prior to bottling. The wine carries 14.5% alcohol by volume and has earned 93 Points from James Suckling and 92 Points from Wine Enthusiast. An ideal pairing for grilled steak, roast lamb, veal, aged cheddar, or mushroom risotto. Best enjoyed slightly decanted to fully open its aromatic complexity.
