Oban Little Bay is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky from the coastal town of Oban, Scotland, matured in a unique combination of refill American oak hogsheads, European oak Sherry casks, and refill casks with new ends before marrying in small oak casks. This 86 proof (43% ABV) expression delivers a complex flavor profile with an oily, waxy, and nutty nose balanced by ripe orchard fruits and notes of almond fruit cake. The palate offers the comforting chewiness of rich fruit-bread with hints of orange zest and clove, crisp green apple, and a minty character. The finish is notably long and syrupy at first, then drying with elegant coating tannins rich in dark chocolate character.
