Bodegas Muga Reserva Selección Especial is a celebrated red wine from the Rioja DOCa appellation of Spain, produced by Bodegas Muga, one of the region's oldest and most traditional family-owned wineries founded in 1932. This prestige Reserva is blended from 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo, and 3% Graciano, sourced from the estate's finest vineyards. It is fermented using indigenous yeasts in oak vats and aged for 26 months in new French oak casks crafted at the winery's own cooperage — a distinction shared by only a handful of estates worldwide. Before bottling, the wine is fined with fresh egg whites in the traditional Rioja manner, then bottle-aged for at least 12 months in the cellars prior to release.

Deep ruby in the glass with a garnet rim, the wine opens with an intense bouquet of black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, violet, licorice, and dried herbs. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with fine chalky tannins and bright acidity, revealing flavors of black currant, pomegranate, anisette, dark chocolate, black truffle, ground coffee, and a lingering cherry-tobacco finish. It is harmonious and elegant now, with the structure to develop through 2030 and beyond. Alcohol: 14.0%.
