Del Maguey Vida is an artisanal single-village organic mezcal made from espadín agaves harvested from the village of San Luis del Rio in Oaxaca, Mexico. Introduced in 2010, this mezcal is crafted using traditional methods where the agaves are roasted for 3-8 days followed by an 8-10 day wild fermentation. The spirit is twice distilled very slowly in small wood-fired riverside copper stills.

The nose opens with smoke, roasted agave, tropical fruit, honey, tobacco, and saddle leather, finishing with white pepper. On the palate, expect flavors of roasted fruit with notes of grilled grapefruit, brown sugar, orange juice, ginger, cinnamon, tangerine, and a hint of salinity, underpinned by a welcome oiliness. The finish is soft and lengthy with smoke and tobacco notes reminiscent of an after-dinner cigar.

Bottled at 42% ABV (84 proof), Vida is designed as a versatile mezcal ideal for mixing in cocktails while maintaining its artisanal character. Pairs well with chocolate, vegetables, and cheese.
