Organic Cotton Candy seedless green grapes that taste remarkably like cotton candy, developed through natural cross-breeding of European wine grapes (Vitis vinifera) with Concord-like grapes (Vitis labrusca). These specialty grapes were created by horticulturalist David Cain at International Fruit Genetics in Bakersfield, California, through over 12 years of plant breeding involving 100,000 test tube plants before achieving the distinctive cotton candy flavor profile.

The grapes feature a naturally sweet taste with hints of vanilla and minimal tartness, creating a lingering sweetness that evokes memories of spun sugar and carnival treats. Despite their candy-like flavor, they contain no artificial flavors or genetic modification, just traditional plant breeding techniques. At approximately 18 grams of sugar per 100 grams of grapes, they have about 12% more sugar than regular table grapes but far less than raisins.

These green seedless grapes look identical to standard table grapes but deliver an unexpected burst of cotton candy flavor when eaten. The breeding process involved extracting baby embryos from fertilized plants and growing them in test tubes before field planting, a technique that took 6-15 years to perfect.
