Catena Alta Malbec is a premium Argentine red wine produced by the celebrated Catena Zapata winery, sourced from high-altitude vineyards across Mendoza's finest growing regions. Fruit is drawn from exceptional single-vineyard lots including the Angélica, La Pirámide, Nicasia, Angélica Sur, and Adrianna vineyards, with approximately 70% sourced from Gualtallary in the Uco Valley and the remainder from Luján and Maipú. After harvest, the wine is aged for up to 18 months in both new and used French oak barrels, developing complexity and structure while preserving the vibrancy of Argentine Malbec. Available at Costco as a case of 6 x 750ml bottles.

The wine pours deep violet with blue reflections and offers an elegant, complex nose of ripe dark fruits—black cherry, plum, and blackberry—layered with notes of violets, lavender, leather, spice, and vanilla. On the palate it is full-bodied and rich, with silky, finely grained tannins and a concentrated core of cassis, blackcurrant, and blackberry fruit woven through with hints of licorice and black pepper. The finish is long and persistent, marked by vibrant acidity and wonderful minerality.
