Artezin Old Vine Zinfandel is a handcrafted red wine sourced from sustainably farmed, multi-generational family-owned vineyards in the Ukiah Valley of Mendocino County, California. This heritage variety was introduced to the region by Italian immigrants over a century ago, and the old vine plantings lend the wine exceptional depth and character. Produced under the Artezin label by The Hess Collection, each vintage is crafted by winemaker Randle Johnson, who has helmed the label since 2002. The wine is typically a blend of approximately 85% Zinfandel and 15% Petite Sirah, aged in 100% one- to two-year-old French oak barrels.

On the nose, this wine opens with aromas of ripe raspberry, boysenberry, cherry, and blackberry pie crust, accented by vanilla, cinnamon, and black pepper. The palate delivers bright red cherry cola and raspberry flavors layered with blackberry, dried herbs, licorice, and baking spices. The finish is long and dry with lingering vanilla and spice. Medium- to full-bodied with soft, smooth tannins, it is approachable and versatile at the table. Alcohol content is approximately 14.5–14.8% ABV.

This wine pairs well with grilled meats, hearty stews, BBQ with tomato-based sauces, zesty cheeses, and burgers. It has earned high critical praise, including 92 points and Editor's Choice recognition from Wine Enthusiast for the 2014 vintage. Each bottle is 750 ml and sold as part of a 12-bottle case at Costco.
