The blend typically comprises a majority of Merlot alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and occasionally Cabernet Franc, with composition varying by vintage. The 2020 vintage is composed of approximately 64% Merlot and 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, while the 2021 vintage features 65% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 16% Cabernet Franc. The wine is vinified and aged at the Screaming Eagle estate in Oakville, one of Napa Valley's most celebrated sub-appellations.
