Ottella Lugana Veneto, Italy 750ML

Ottella Lugana DOC is an elegant Italian white wine crafted from 100% Turbiana grapes (also known as Trebbiano di Lugana) grown in estate vineyards near the southern shores of Lake Garda in the Veneto region of Italy. The grapes are hand-harvested in late September and gently whole-bunch crushed, then fermented slowly at cool controlled temperatures before aging for five months on fine lees. The result is a wine of remarkable expressive elegance and density characteristic of the Lugana appellation.

The wine pours a bright straw-yellow and offers an elegant, mineral nose with exotic notes, candied fruit, and hints of citrus. On the palate, flavors of lemon, grapefruit, white peach, apricot, and stone fruit are complemented by floral aromas of jasmine and peach blossom. Crisp acidity carries through to a warm, lingering finish with saline notes and hints of beeswax. Cantina Ottella is a family-owned winery in San Benedetto di Lugana with a longstanding focus on the Lugana DOC designation, farming high white clay content soils that give the wine its distinctive mineral character.
