Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium red wine from the renowned Paso Robles region of California's Central Coast. This magnum-sized 1.5L bottle contains double the volume of a standard wine bottle, making it perfect for special occasions and larger gatherings. The wine showcases the exceptional quality that has made Austin Hope one of Paso Robles' most celebrated producers.
This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from grapes sourced from small, carefully chosen blocks across diverse sub-regions of Paso Robles, including the Creston, Estrella, Adelaida, El Pomar, and Geneseo Districts. The wine is aged 16 months in 75% new French oak barrels, developing complex layers of flavor and elegant structure. The 2017 vintage was selected as number 10 on Wine Enthusiast Magazine's Top 100 Wines of 2019 and earned an impressive 95-point rating.
The wine pours a deep ruby color, nearly opaque in the glass, with an intensely aromatic nose of baking spices, nutmeg, and hints of hickory smoke and vanilla. On the palate, it delivers a sophisticated blend of dark fruit flavors including black cherry, blueberry, plum, and strawberry, complemented by notes of brown sugar, caramel, sea salt, vanilla cookie, and dark chocolate. The wine is big, spicy, and full-bodied yet remains elegant and well-balanced throughout, with polished tannins and a long, chalky finish. At 15% alcohol by volume, this is a powerful wine that pairs beautifully with grilled steaks, roasted meats, and hearty dishes.
Hope Family Wines remains proudly family-owned and operated, with Austin Hope continuing his family's legacy of sustainable farming practices and commitment to producing delicious, reliable, and accessible wines that represent the unique terroir of Paso Robles.
