Markham The Altruist is a Napa Valley red blend crafted by Markham Vineyards, one of the Napa Valley's established producers known for their approachable, food-friendly wines. This is a right-bank Bordeaux-style blend led by Merlot, with the 2022 vintage composed of approximately 85% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc.

The wine is aged approximately 15 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, which imparts structure and complexity while preserving the fruit-forward character. Tasting notes include opulent aromas of cherry and plum jam layered with cola, vanilla, and toasted oak. On the palate it is lush and velvety with a smooth, approachable finish.
