Optik Bien Nacido Vineyard Chardonnay is a white wine sourced from the prestigious Bien Nacido Vineyard in the heart of Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara County, California. This wine is a collaborative project between the Miller Family, owners of Bien Nacido Vineyard, and acclaimed winemaker Joey Tensley. The Bien Nacido Vineyard is widely regarded as one of the finest vineyards in Santa Maria Valley.

The wine opens with aromas of banana custard, fennel bulbs, chamomile flowers, and buttered toast. On the palate, flavors of stone fruit, golden apples, sweetened cream, and lavash bread are complemented by oak aging that adds touches of brown spice and crème brûlée. Consistent coastal winds impart Bien Nacido's signature touch of salinity, leading to a long, bright, and elegant finish. The 2021 vintage is aged 14 months in French oak (20% new) and carries 15.0% alcohol by volume. It has earned 93-point scores from Wine Enthusiast, Jeb Dunnuck, International Wine Report, and Somm Journal, as well as 90 points from Vinous.
