Domaine Delaporte Sancerre is a classic white wine from the prestigious Sancerre appellation in the Loire Valley, France. Crafted entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grapes sourced from the village of Chavignol, this wine expresses the signature minerality and crisp character that has made Sancerre one of the world's most celebrated white wine appellations.
Domaine Delaporte is a family estate managed by Matthieu Delaporte, whose family has farmed the same land in Chavignol for over 300 years. The estate spans approximately 33 hectares across more than 50 parcels, with around 35% of the vines planted in flint (silex) soil — a rare proportion for the appellation. Vines average 35 years of age and are cultivated following organic and sustainable farming principles, with harvesting done by hand, parcel by parcel.
Vinification is focused on expressing terroir with minimal intervention. Fermentation takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel vats, followed by an extended élevage on lees for approximately six months before bottling. The result is a wine of impressive purity, bright acidity, and characteristic mineral length. Aromas typically include white-fleshed fruits, citrus, and subtle floral notes with a clean, saline finish. This Sancerre pairs beautifully with goat's cheese (particularly the regional Crottin de Chavignol), fresh seafood, oysters, grilled fish, and light poultry dishes.
