Montes Alpha Merlot is a premium Chilean red wine from the Colchagua Valley, produced by Viña Montes, a winery established in 1988 by Aurelio Montes, Douglas Murray, Alfredo Vidaurre, and Pedro Grand. The Alpha range represents the core of the Montes portfolio and helped redefine premium winemaking in Chile.

The grapes are carefully selected from vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. After malolactic fermentation, 55% of the final blend is aged in French oak barrels (25% new, the rest second and third fill) for 12 months, adding complexity and roundness. The wine is deep ruby red in color with pronounced aromas of fresh red berries and plums, complemented by subtle layers of vanilla, toffee, and nutty notes from oak aging. It is well-structured with smooth, round tannins and balanced freshness. 750ML bottle, 14.5% ABV.
