Alphonse Mellot Chardonnay Loire Valley 750ml

Alphonse Mellot Chardonnay Loire Valley is a 100% Chardonnay white wine from France's renowned Loire Valley, produced by the legendary Mellot family whose winemaking tradition dates back to the early 19th century — now carried on by Alphonse Mellot Jr., the 19th generation to bear the name.

This wine is crafted from the historic Les Pénitents vineyard, whose origins trace to the 12th century when Cluniac monks first planted and farmed the site. The vineyard was nearly destroyed by phylloxera in the late 19th century but was revived in the late 1980s. It offers an expressive nose with real aromatic intensity, featuring notes of citrus and exotic fruits, a rich yellow robe with glints of gold, and a finely balanced palate with lemony hints and a long, lingering finish. The wine combines the aromatic character of the Loire with the minerality of a Chablis.

Best enjoyed as an aperitif or paired with oysters, guinea fowl with morels, risotto with truffles, or Crottin de Chavignol cheese. Sold in cases of 12 x 750ml bottles.
