Hakata 10 Year Sherry Cask Japanese Whisky is a single malt whisky produced at the Hikari Distillery in Fukuoka, Japan, a facility with roots dating back to 1912. The mash is made from 100% barley, with a portion fermented using Koji, a traditional Japanese enzyme culture that contributes savory umami depth to the flavor profile.

The whisky is aged for a minimum of 10 years in sherry casks, a combination of traditional indoor warehouses and open-air warehouses unique to the Fukuoka region. Sherry cask maturation imparts rich dried fruit, spice, and caramel notes characteristic of the style. Each bottle is filled at 84 proof (42% ABV) in a 700ml format and sold in cases of six.

Hakata whisky represents a newer introduction to U.S. markets from a storied Japanese distillery, offering an approachable yet complex age-stated expression at a competitive price point relative to other Japanese single malts.
